Volunteering Activities

In recent years, volunteering activities have become even more

popular, especially after Beijing Olympic Games. Some people

volunteer to assist large-scale conferences and gathering; some

volunteer in non-governmental organizations, and some volunteer in

community work regularly.

All of these activities have brought profound changes to our

society and made it a better place. To begin with, volunteers

contribute significantly to build a fairer society. Most volunteers have

already had their jobs or learning tasks, but they are willing to give

up their rest hours to help disadvantaged people. It helps to release

people’s grief, bridge the gap between the wealthy and the needy and

bring love and care to people who are in urgent need. In the second

place, the prevalence of volunteer activities helps to build a

harmonious society. People learn to calculate less, demand less but

offer more, which is a good sign for maintaining social stability.

As contemporary college students, we shoulder the responsibility of

improving the society. It is our intrinsic duty to make more

contribution to the society and give our hands to people who are in

need. Therefore, participating in volunteering activities should be on

everyone’s schedule
