摘要:PURPOSE:To enlarge the range of speed detection and the dynamic range of
moving speed and to improve the performance of track seeking by providing four kinds
of a servo pattern with the period of 24 tracks on servo sectors provided discretely in the
direction of circumference on a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:To the sub-track
code part of the servo sectors 2, four kinds of the servo pattern with the period 24 tracks
are buried. This is read out by a head 5, the servo sectors existing discretely are detected
by a servo information demodulator 8, by data found with an in-track position decoder 9,
a positional information recognizing device 10, etc., head speed is found through a speed
commander 11 and simultaneously, error between the output of a speed operation
means 12 is calculated by an error amplifier to compensate by a compensator 14. Thus,
the relative positional relation of the tracks where a data head passes through is
detected, is corrected by one track or below, the range of the speed detection is
enlarged, and also the dynamic range is enlarged and the track seeking is performed with
higher speed and in shorter time.
